Bengaluru boy allegedly commits suicide for forcing him to return to boarding school

The boy had allegedly expressed his unwillingness to go back to school several times. But parents wanted their son to study well and ease themselves of the struggles since they were working parents.  

A 14-year-old school boy from Bengaluru allegedly hanged himself, after he was forced to return to boarding school in Tumakuru, Karnataka.

The boy was found hanging at his Rajagopalnagar residence near Laggere in Bengaluru. He was a class VIII student in Siddaganga Mutt in Tumakuru.

The incident occurred when the victim's parents Raju and mother Lakshmi had been to work and sister was at school. His father worked as mechanic in a company in Peenya and mother ran a petty tea stall.

The boy had allegedly expressed his unwillingness to go back to school several times. But parents wanted their son to study well and ease themselves of the struggles since they were working parents. But he was not interested in studies.

This time, the boy had come home for Ganesh Chaturthi festival (September 13). He was supposed to return to the boarding school, but stayed back as he had to get his Aadhaar card registered.

He was supposed to return after collecting his Aadhaar card on September 20. But a day before that he hanged himself. The incident came to light when his mother returned home and found the son hanging from the roof. She immediately sought help from neighbours and they informed the police. Boy was then taken to Victoria Hospital, but was declared brought dead.   

The police said that the boy has not left behind any suicide note.
