Ramanagara district to be merged with Bengaluru: Karnataka DyCM DK Shivakumar

Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar announced the merger of Ramanagara district with Bengaluru at a temple event in Sivanahalli village. He emphasized the development potential under the Bengaluru district banner and urged farmers not to sell their land. Shivakumar also recognized temple renovation efforts and the transformation of the Kabbalamma temple, once considered cursed, into a state treasure.

In a recent announcement at the Veerabhadraswamy temple event in Sivanahalli village of Kanakapura taluk, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar confirmed the merger of Ramanagara district with Bengaluru, emphasizing that there will no longer be a separate Ramanagara district. He attributed the existence of Ramanagara district to personal political motives and assured former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy of renaming it as Bengaluru district.

Shivakumar, who cautioned farmers not to sell their land hastily, stressed that property values would rise significantly as the region develops under the Bengaluru district banner. He urged farmers in Kanakapura taluk not to part with their land, predicting that these villages would eventually become part of the ever-expanding Bengaluru.

The Deputy Chief Minister acknowledged the renovation efforts for more than 300 temples in Kanakapura taluk and expressed his readiness to write a book about temple restoration. He encouraged contributions from all to support such endeavours, emphasizing the importance of preserving cultural heritage.

Shivakumar also highlighted the transformation of the Kabbalamma temple, once feared to be cursed, into a renowned state treasure due to dedicated efforts by local leaders and spiritual authorities.
