
A devastating road accident on Tuesday morning claimed three lives, including two children, on National Highway-150A near Bommakkanahalli Majid in Monakalmur taluk, Chitradurga district, Karnataka. The incident occurred on the stretch between Challakere and Ballari.
CCTV footage of the accident shows the car hitting the highway divider and rolling over nearly 15 times before coming to a stop. The deceased have been identified as Moula Abdul (35), who was driving the car, and his two sons, Rehman (15) and Sameer (10).
Three others from the family—Moula Abdul’s wife, Salima Begum (31), his mother, Fatima (75), and another son, Hussein—sustained serious injuries. They have been shifted to Ballari VIMS Hospital for medical treatment.
According to police reports, the family was originally from Yadgir but had been living in Bengaluru, where they worked as labourers. The accident took place while they were traveling from Bengaluru to Yadgir.
Sub-Inspector Mahesh Hosapete inspected the accident site, which falls under the jurisdiction of Rampur police station. Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash, and further details are awaited.
