A tragic incident unfolded at Bangalore University on Monday when Pavana H.N., a 22-year-old second-year postgraduate student, was found dead in her hostel room. Pavana, who was pursuing her Master's in Kannada Studies, was staying at the Rambai Hostel on the university campus.

The young woman, originally from Hebbalaguppe village in H.D. Kote, took her own life by hanging herself in her room. The incident occurred around noon, and fellow hostel residents discovered the body. They immediately notified the authorities.

The Jnanabharathi police arrived at the scene along with a forensic team (SOCO) to examine the circumstances surrounding the tragic event. At this point, the exact reason behind Pavana’s suicide remains unclear. The police have registered a case under the Unnatural Death Report (UDR) at the Jnanabharathi Police Station and are investigating all possible leads.

According to initial reports, the student had attended a college program earlier in the day and had left midway before returning to her hostel room. She was later found dead in her room. Authorities have informed Pavana’s family about the unfortunate incident, and her body has been sent to Victoria Hospital for post-mortem.

This heartbreaking incident has left both the university community and Pavana’s family in shock, and the police continue their investigation to understand the circumstances behind this tragic loss.
