  • Baba Ramdev gets non-bailable warrant for his beheading remark last year.
  • He was initially issued a bailable warrant, but did not appear before the court.
  • His remark came in the light of a Sadbhavana Sammelan, which was supposed to spread peace.

A non-bailable warrant was issued against Baba Ramdev on Wednesday for his 'beheading remark' against those refusing to raise slogans of 'Bharat Mata ki Jai'. He had passed this comment last year at a Sadbhawana Sammelan in Rohtak in April last year.

On May 12, the court had issued a bailable warrant against Ramdev. However, the non-bailable order followed after Ramdev failed to appear before the court despite summons and a bailable warrant, said OP Chouhan, the counsel of complainant in the case.

Incidentally, the Sadbhavana Sammelan was organised to promote peace in the city that witnessed violence during the Jat quota stir. Following this on March 2, additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Harish Goyal issued summons to Ramdev after a complaint was filed by Congress leader and former Haryana minister Subhash Batra, seeking registration of a police case against the yoga guru.

Goyal had initially issued the NBW against Ramdev and fixed August 3 as the next date of hearing in the case.
