Prison inmates in Tamil Nadu have done something amazing in this year's SSLC public exams, grabbing everyone's attention with their excellent results. Across the state's central and women's prisons, 363 inmates wrote the exam, and a whopping 349 of them passed. This takes their total pass percentage to an impressive 96.14%.
According to information from the Department of Prisons and Correctional Services, 21 of the candidates were women inmates, and 20 of them passed. Officials said that the efforts to improve education for inmates are showing great results. In fact, the central prisons in Madurai, Cuddalore, Coimbatore, Palayamkottai, and Chennai Central Prison-II all got a 100% pass rate. The women's prisons in Chennai, Vellore, Madurai, Coimbatore, and the Pudukkottai district prison also achieved the same feat.

These results prove once again that a prison isn't just a place for punishment, but also a place to turn your life around.
