Sourav Ganguly to be discharged from hospital today

Synopsis

Former India captain Sourav Ganguly will be discharged from today (January 7). Ganguly was supposed to be discharged from the hospital yesterday, but he wanted to stay back for one more day.   

Former India captain Sourav Ganguly will be discharged from today (January 7). Ganguly suffered a mild heart attack last Saturday (January 2) after which he underwent angioplasty. As per the hospital's latest medical bulletin, the former India captain will be discharged today.

Sourav Ganguly was supposed to be discharged from the hospital yesterday, but he wanted to stay back for one more day.

Ganguly had three blocked coronary arteries and a stent was inserted in one to remove the blockage. A nine-member medical team was formed at the hospital to look after him.

A doctor treating Sourav Ganguly said, “Mr Ganguly is clinically fit. He slept well and had his meal. He is fine and has no chest pain or any other complications. Our team of doctors monitored his health condition thoroughly this morning.”

“Doctors treating him will be keeping constant vigil on his health situation and taking appropriate measures from time to time at home, “he added.

On Wednesday (January 6), Arvind Menon, BJP's central co-observer in West Bengal and all-India secretary, added a new dimension to speculation surrounding Sourav's entry into politics. He said, “Our doors are always open. Whenever Sourav joins the team, we will welcome him.”
