One dead, another injured in road accident in Kolkata

Synopsis

A shocking road accident took place in Kolkata on Sunday (December 14) night.  One person was killed and another injured in the accident. The accident was caused by a reckless private car collision. Three people, including a young woman in the car, were arrested.

Kolkata: One person was killed and another injured in a road accident in the city at night. The accident was caused by a reckless private car collision. Three people, including a young woman in the car, were arrested. 

According to sources, a private vehicle was moving recklessly towards the EM bypass from Jadavpur. At that time, a man named Ratan Sarkar was hit by a car in front of his house near Sapui Para Battala Park in Garfa police station.

Nilotpal Biswas and his wife were walking in the street when suddenly the car came and hit both of them. 

Nitopal’s wife somehow got saved from the major accident but Nitopal was severely injured and admitted to the hospital. Ratan Sarkar died in the accident. Local people rushed to the spot and caught the people inside the car. They immediately informed the police.

Police came and arrested three people who were inside the car and took them to the police station. Panic spread in the area due to the accident. Residents of the area crowded the police station demanding punishment for the culprits.
