NCP says that instead of targetting the Bollywood superstar and his son, the NCB should focus on unravelling the network behind the massive seizure of 3000 kg of drugs worth over Rs 21,000 crore from the Gautam Adani-owned Mundra port
The Nationalist Congress Party has once against targeted the Narcotics Control Bureau and cast political aspersions on the drug case involving Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan and others. NCP leader and Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Chhagan Bhujbal have said that if Shah Rukh Khan were to join the BJP, the so-called drug seizure would turn into "sugar powder".
Speaking at a Samta Parishad-NCP function, Bhujbal said that instead of targetting the Bollywood superstar and his son, the NCB should focus on unravelling the network behind the massive seizure of 3000 kg of drugs worth over Rs 21,000 crore from the Gautam Adani-owned Mundra port.
The NCP has been on a tirade against the NCB over what it terms as "fake case" against celebrities. Another NCP minister Nawab Malik had accused NCB Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede of engaging in extortion from celebrities and even sought a judicial investigation into the cases probed by the central agency this year. Responding to Malik's charges, Wankhede said he will pursue legal actions against the minister.

— Asianet Newsable (@AsianetNewsEN)The remarks come even as the Congress party, which is an ally of the NCP in the Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi government in the state, too termed the NCB probe against Aryan Khan as a revenge tactic. Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on Saturday claimed that the central agency was working at the behest of its master to "inflict revenge" upon Aryan, who was arrested on October 3 along with his childhood friend Arbaaz Merchant and fashion model Munmum Dhamecha after a raid at a rave party onboard a cruise ship.
The NCB had allegedly seized 22 pills of MDMA, 21 grams of charas, 13 grams of cocaine and 5 grams of MD from the cruise ship. A special NDPS court had on October 21 rejected the bail plea of Aryan and others. He is currently lodged in Mumbai’s Arthur Road Jail. The Bombay High court will now on October 26 take up a hearing on the bail petition. So far, the NCB has arrested at least 20 people in connection with the case.
