
Mysuru: The District Administration of Mysuru has ordered the closure of all tourist spots around Mysuru from October 17 till November 1.
The decision has been made to discourage tourists from coming to Mysuru for Dasara festivities. The world-famous Mysuru Dasara festival will begin from Saturday.
Deputy Commissioner of Mysuru Rohini Sindhuri said, "This year Mysuru Dasara will be simple, traditional and virtual. I appeal to people to enjoy Dasara by seeing all programmes online without taking risk of going to the venue. We have the second-highest number of cases after Bengaluru. Mysuru has an average of 500 to 600 cases per day”.

Mysuru Zoo, Mysuru Palace, Karanji Lake, Jayachamarajendra Art Gallery and Srikanteshwara temple at Nanjangud will be closed from 17 October to 1 November. Chamundeshwari temple atop Chamundi hills will also be closed.
Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri has ordered the closure of Sri Chamundeshwari temple till October 18 midnight.
This year Dasara will be inaugurated by Dr CN Manjunath, Director, Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research atop Chamundi Hill on Saturday.
