Mamata Banerjee supports ‘Bharat Bandh’ on December 8

Synopsis

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee sharply attacked the central government over the agricultural law during a meeting in Medinipur. The Chief Minister supported the ‘Bharat Bandh’ on Tuesday (December 8) called by the farmers organization. However, the Trinamool Congress will hold demonstrations in different parts of the state from December 8 to 10.  

From the meeting in Medinipur, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee sharply attacked the central government over the agricultural law. 

The Chief Minister supported the ‘Bharat Bandh’ on Tuesday (December 8) called by the farmer's organization. The Trinamool Congress will hold demonstrations in different parts of the state from December 8 to 10. The Chief Minister also slammed the Center for increasing the prices of goods.

Farmers' organizations have called a ‘Bharat Bandh’ on Tuesday in protest of the Agriculture Act. Chief Minister Mamata 
Banerjee supported the farmers' movement. The Chief Minister slammed the Center from the meeting in Medinipur and informed that West Bengal will also participate in the protest. 

Although, West Bengal’s ruling Trinamool Congress earlier said that it will not support the ‘Bharat Bandh’ called by farmer union leaders on December 8 but later changed their minds. In the meeting, Mamata Banerjee said, “If the agriculture law is not repealed, let the BJP step down from power.”

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced a series of programs across the state against the Agriculture Act. The Trinamool Congress will hold a sit-in protest in front of the Gandhi statue in Mayo road from December 8 to 10. 

The Chief Minister also announced that TMC workers would hold demonstrations in every block in different districts. Besides, Mamata Banerjee also took a stand against the BJP over the rise in price of the commodites. The Chief Minister also slammed the Center for increasing the prices of onions and potatoes and other daily necessities.
