The Bengaluru police on October 12 have opened fire at a man for allegedly kidnapping a four-year-old girl and raping her. The accused has been identified as Dinesh; the incident took place at Vatal Nagaraj Road.

Bengaluru: The Bengaluru police on Monday have opened fire at a person who allegedly kidnapped a four-year-old girl and raped her.

Dinesh, who has been accused of kidnapping and raping a four-year-old girl on Sunday October 11 was fired at on his leg by Sunil Naik, inspector of Srirampura police station here.

Dinesh has been admitted to hospital in Bengaluru with injuries and is being treated there.

The incident took place at Vatal Nagaraj Road when Dinesh tried to escape from the cops.

Dinesh has been accused of abducting the child from Majestic area on Sunday afternoon.

The accused had thereafter sexually assaulted the girl. The condition of the child is serious, and she is being treated in a hospital.

Dinesh had allegedly raped the child after taking her to a deserted spot. He thereafter had absconded. The police were on the hunt for him since Sunday afternoon.
