Synopsis

A man in Vadodara killed his wife, Ritaben Solanki, after a heated argument at their home in Narayan Avenue. Police said the accused, Bunty, stabbed her multiple times during the fight. He fled but was arrested hours later after a search operation. Investigators say the couple had long-standing tensions due to the husband’s suspicion of an affair.

A quiet residential area in Vadodara, Gujarat, was shaken late at night after a violent domestic dispute ended in a tragic murder. The incident took place in the Bakrawadi area, at a housing complex known as Narayan Avenue. Residents said the neighbourhood was calm like any other night. Families were inside their homes and the area was largely silent. Suddenly, loud screams and cries were heard from one of the houses. What started as a quarrel between a husband and wife soon turned into a horrifying crime that shocked the entire locality. When neighbours later learnt what had happened inside the house, fear and shock spread across the area.

Argument between husband and wife turns violent

According to police and local reports, a man named Bunty lived in the Narayan Avenue housing complex with his wife, Ritaben Solanki. On the night of the incident, the couple reportedly got into an argument over an unspecified issue. At first, the dispute appeared to be a normal domestic quarrel, something neighbours say happens in many homes.

However, the situation quickly became tense. The argument grew more heated as both continued to fight. During the quarrel, Bunty allegedly lost control of his temper.

Police said that in a fit of anger, he picked up a knife kept inside the house.

Wife attacked with multiple knife blows

Investigators said Bunty allegedly attacked his wife with the knife during the fight. Reports suggest that he stabbed her several times in quick succession. Ritaben Solanki was reportedly caught off guard by the sudden attack. She suffered severe injuries and collapsed on the floor as blood spread around the room.

Due to the serious wounds, she died at the scene before help could arrive. The tragic incident turned a late-night argument into a heartbreaking loss for the family.

Panic spreads as neighbours alert police

When neighbours realised something terrible had happened, panic spread through the locality. Many residents gathered outside the house while others informed the police. Police vehicles soon reached Narayan Avenue after receiving information about the incident. Officers immediately went inside the house and secured the crime scene.

Senior police officials also arrived to supervise the investigation.

Police collect evidence and begin investigation

Police took the body of Ritaben Solanki into custody and sent it for a post-mortem examination. At the scene, officers prepared a formal report and began collecting evidence. Investigators also spoke to neighbours and people living nearby to understand what had happened before the murder.

Officials said they are examining all possible clues that may help reveal the full sequence of events leading to the killing.

Accused husband arrested after search operation

After the attack, the accused husband Bunty fled from the house. However, Vadodara police launched a search operation in the surrounding areas. Within a few hours, officers managed to locate and arrest him.

Following his arrest, Bunty was taken into custody and is currently being questioned by police. Investigators are trying to determine whether the murder was triggered only by the argument or if other reasons were involved.

Long-standing suspicion in the relationship

During the investigation, police discovered that the couple’s relationship had reportedly been under strain for a long time. According to initial findings, Bunty often suspected that his wife was involved in a relationship with another person. This suspicion had caused frequent tension between them.

Police sources said that Bunty had even installed CCTV cameras inside the house in an attempt to monitor his wife’s activities. Despite this, his doubts reportedly continued to grow over time.

Investigators believe this ongoing mistrust may have played a role in the violent incident, though the exact motive is still being examined.

Two young children left without their mother

The tragedy has deeply affected the couple’s family, especially their children. Ritaben Solanki is survived by two sons. The elder child is around 13 years old, while the younger boy is only about two and a half years old.

With their mother gone, the children have now lost an important source of care and support in their lives.

Local residents said the incident has left the family and the neighbourhood in shock. Many people are still struggling to believe that a domestic dispute could end in such a tragic way.

Police continuing detailed probe

Police said the investigation is ongoing and officers are carefully examining every aspect of the case.

Authorities are questioning the accused and reviewing evidence gathered from the house and nearby areas. They are also trying to understand whether there were additional factors behind the crime.

Officials said further details will become clear as the investigation progresses.
