Female passengers to travel in Kolkata metro without e-pass

Synopsis

The Kolkata Metro rail authority on Thursday (November 19) decided that female passengers will be allowed to travel in the metro without e-pass. The metro rail authorities claim that a large part of female passengers will be benefited from this decision.

Female passengers in Kolkata Metro will no longer have to use e-pass to travel in the metro. The decision was announced by Metro rail authority on Thursday (November 19). 

According to the Metro Rail Authority, the decision was taken keeping in mind the convenience of female passengers. At the same time, those under the age of 15 do not have to use any e-pass, but they have to show the school ID card while boarding the metro.

Kolkata Metro services resumed on 14th September. Since then, it was decided that if a person wants to travel in the metro, he will need an e-pass. However, the senior citizens were given the facility to travel in the metro without the e-pass. 

According to the Metro Rail Authority, female passengers will be allowed to travel in the metro without e-pass from November 20. The metro rail authorities claim that a large part of female passengers will be benefited from this decision. According to reports, female passengers will be able to travel in the metro without e-pass from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day.
