
Bengaluru: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president DK Shivakumar’s daughter Aishwarya on Thursday got engaged to Amartya Hegde, the son of late Cafe Coffee Day founder VG Siddhartha and grandson of BJP leader SM Krishna.
The engagement ceremony was held at Taj Bangalore near the Kempegowda International Airport.
The event was attended by close family members and friends only amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Chief Minister of Karnataka BS Yediyurappa, Ministers and BJP leaders K Sudhakar and R Ashoka were also present at the event.
Aishwarya is the eldest daughter of Shivakumar and Usha. She holds an engineering graduate degree.
Amartya Hegde is the eldest son of late Café Coffee Day founder VG Siddharth and Malavika. He has been managing the business after his father's death in 2019.
Aishwarya is taking care of the Global Academy of Technology, an engineering and management college in Bengaluru. Her father, DK Shivakumar, is the chairman of the Rajarajeshwarinagar-based college.
