Former West Bengal Urban Development Minister Ashok Bhattacharya visited Sourav Ganguly's house in Kolkata.
Bhattacharya held several discussions with the president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India Sourav Ganguly and advised him not to join politics.

Former Chief Administrator of Siliguri Municipality and former Minister Ashok Bhattacharya has a long-standing relationship with BCCI President and former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly.
Ashok Bhattacharya posted a picture of the meeting on Facebook.
After the meeting, Bhattacharya said, “I have talked to Sourav about politics. In my opinion, it is better for him not to get involved in politics. I told him, cricket has taken him to the peak of popularity. The people of the country want it to continue.”

“Sourav assured that he would do his best to help improve cricket in Siliguri. He told me that he would go to Siliguri to discuss all these matters. Sourav wished me well in advance for the upcoming assembly polls,” he added.
Sourav’s wife Dona ganguly was in the chat room of the two. Dona took pictures of the meeting from her mobile. The former minister of West Bengal posted the news of meeting with Sourav on Facebook with that picture.
