BJP MP Subhas Sarkar warns Trinamool against village programmes in Bankura

Synopsis

While addressing a party meeting at Harmasara bus stand in Taldangra on Tuesday (October 13) night, BJP’s Bankura MP Subhas Sarkar made vulgar remarks aimed at the Trinamool. He said that the Trinamool programme might spark protest because villagers are likely to confront leaders and deliver a tight slap on their face.  

BJP’s Bankura MP Subhas Sarkar has issued a veiled threat to Trinamool, which is planning to reach out to villages in the district as part of its ‘Grame Chalo’ programme ahead of the Bengal Assembly Elections.

The BJP MP also made vulgar remarks aimed at the Trinamool. He said that the Trinamool programme might spark protest because villagers are likely to confront leaders and deliver a tight slap on their face.

While addressing a party meeting at Harmasara bus stand in Taldangra on Tuesday (October 13) night, Subhas Sarkar told, “Kick Trinamool leaders and send them to Kalighat.”

The BJP MP also said, “It is quite natural villagers may ask for an account of the work done in the area for the last nine years, since Trinamool came to power in 2011. This will lead to commotion. Chances are that Trinamool leaders on a village tour may get a tight slap on their face.”

Minister of state for panchayat and rural development Shyamal Santra reacted sharply to Sarkar’s remark. He said, “Subhas Sarkar will remain responsible for any attack on Trinamool workers in the district.”
