Bengaluru violence: Prime accused Mujahid arrested by DJ Halli cops

Synopsis

The main accused in Bengaluru violence has returned to the city. Mujahid who allegedly set fire to MLA Akhanda Srinivasa Murthy’s house in August has been arrested.

Bengaluru: The CCB Sleuths have been doing rigours investigation regarding the Bengaluru riots that happened on August 11.

The CCB officers were on the look out for accused Mujahid who allegedly set fire to MLA Akhanda Srinivasa Murthy’s house.

Mujahid alias water Mujju had run away from Bengaluru right after the incident and was reportedly hiding in Kolar and Ramanagara since the last one month.

The DJ Halli cops finally nabbed Mujahid after he came back to Bengaluru. The accused was arrested in Chamrajpet police station limits on Tuesday.

Mujahid was supplying water to the residents of KJ Halli and DJ Halli and is known to be a familiar face in these areas.

MLA Akhanda Srinivasa Murthy suspected that Mujahid could have burnt his house as he went missing after the incident.

It is said that Mujahid played the main role in burning down the MLA’s house and he was the one who gathered hundreds of men near the MLA’s house at the night of the incident.

The officials have arrested close to 350 people in connection with the riots that happened on August 11.

Special teams were formed to probe the incident and 500 people were detained for questioning of the incident.
