Senior TMC leader and state Rural Development Minister Subrata Mukherjee said that Bengal will not send three IPS officers for central deputation.
He said that the central’s order to summon three IPS officers is an attack on the federal structure of the state.

At a press conference, Subrata Mukherjee said, “We will not send three IPS officers on deputation. At most, the Centre can impose Presidents Rule. We will welcome that move. If the Centre wants to do that, they can go ahead.”
Three IPS officers of West Bengal who were in-charge of the security of BJP national president JP Nadda during his visit to the state have been called to serve in central deputation soon after Nadda’s convoy was attacked in Diamond Harbor.
Rajib Mishra (ADG, South Bengal), Praveen Tripathi (DIG, Presidency Range) and Bholanath Pandey (SP, Diamond Harbour) have been sent on deputation to Indo-Tibetan Border Police, Seema Suraksha Bal and Police Research Bureau, respectively.

Subrata Mukherjee alleged that the Centre is trying to misuse provisions of the IPS Cadre Rule of 1954.
Mukherjee said that the central government is trying to demotivate the police force of the state.
