Synopsis

Mayank Pratap Singh scripted history after the minimum age to appear for Rajasthan judicial services exam reduced from 23 to 21 years. Singh who cracked the exam is all set to become the youngest judge of India.

Jaipur: 21-year-old Mayank Pratap Singh from Jaipur cleared the Rajasthan judicial services 2018 exam and is set to write history as the youngest  judge in India.

"I was always drawn towards the judicial services going by the importance and respect reserved for the judges in the society. I took admission in 2014 in the five-year LLB course from the Rajasthan University, which ended this year," Singh said.

"I am elated with my success and I thank my family, teachers and all well-wishers for their contribution which helped me crack the exam in the first attempt," he added.

Mayank scripted the history thanks to the amendment made to the rule recently. Accordingly, the minimum age to appear for the Rajasthan judicial services was reduced from 23 to 21 years in 2018. The order was passed by the Rajasthan high court.

Singh after passing the exam said that this move will help fill up vacancies and help young people get into services at an early age.

He also said that he wants to help as many people as possible throughout his career.

"I could appear in the exam because the minimum age was reduced. Had it not been so then I would not have been eligible. I think it will benefit me because now I will get more time to learn and do more work and serve more people in my career because I joined at such a young age," Singh added.
