Get your facts right before indulge yourself in any fake news. Gargling and steam inhalation can soothe your throat irritation or nasal infection, but it cannot heal Covid-19.

Recently, a video went viral where a doctor suggests saying no to steam inhalation and gargling as it may release particle of the virus in the air.

In the video, Dr Tushar Shah says, “When patients with COVID do gargling or steam inhalation, they release virus particles in the air. These particles can travel several metres and they can stay suspended in the air for several hours. This is a major cause of the spread within families and indoor spaces.”

But there are many doctors who opposed this thought. They said that gargling or steam inhalation could never transmit the virus in the air. In fact, they are supposed to maintain their self-isolation from the rest of their family. When somebody coughs or sneezes, the virus can only get released and transmit in the air through the droplets.

Gargles and steam inhalation are great homemade remedies to soothe throat irritation and clear nasal passages. But, having said that, you can never get cured of the virus by only gargling and inhaling steam. These are temporary methods to make you feel better. If you get infected by the virus, do not apply these methods to become Covid negative; consult a doctor.
