Data revealed by the health ministry revealed that the country's vaccination coverage had crossed 61 crores (61,10,43,573). Nearly 68 lakh vaccine doses were administered on Thursday alone.
The Modi government has been pushing the states to accelerate the pace of Covid-19 vaccination throughout the country.
According to the Union Health Ministry, the vaccination campaign has been ramped up through the availability of more vaccines, accurate projections of vaccine requirements for states and Union territories and streamlining the supply chain.
The Centre has been providing vaccines free of cost to the states and Union Territories. The central government has been procuring and supplying 75% of the vaccines being produced by the country's manufacturers free of cost.
