Coronavirus: India reports 42,766 new COVID cases; Kerala contributes 70% of the cases

India on Sunday reported 42,766 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours, according to Health Ministry's data.
 

India reported 42,766 new Covid-19 cases and 308 deaths in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said on Sunday. This has pushed the total infections to 3,29,88,673 and the death toll to 4,40,533.
 

India’s total active cases of Covid-19 rose to 4,10,048, the ministry data showed. Kerala again accounted for 70% of the cases with 29,682 new infections detected in the state on Saturday.

A total of 38,091 discharges in 24 hours increased the total recoveries to 3,21,38,092. The national recovery rate stands at 97.42%.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) data, India so far has conducted 53 crore tests and around 17 lakh tests were conducted on Saturday.
