Coronavirus: India reports 26,041 new COVID-19 cases; recovery rate stands at 97.78%

India's active caseload stands at 2,99,620, lowest in 191 days and recoveries crossed 3.29 crore, according to the Union Health Ministry data.
 

India on Monday reported 26,041 new cases taking the total tally of Covid-19 cases to 3,36,78,786, while the death toll rose to 4,47,194 with 276 fatalities in the last 24 hours, according to the Union Health Ministry data.

The active cases declined to 2,99,620, the lowest in 191 days. The active cases comprise 0.89% of the total infections, the ministry said.

India saw a total of 29,621 discharges in the last 24 hours, pushing the total recoveries to 3,29,31,972. The national Covid-19 recovery rate was recorded at 97.78%.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) data, so far, the total Covid tests conducted stands at 56.44 crore, of which 11,65,006 Covid tests were conducted in the last 24 hours.

A total of 86.01 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under nationwide vaccination drive. Of which, 38.18 lakh doses were administered yesterday.
