Coronavirus: India clocks 28,326 new COVID-19 cases; recovery rate improved to 97.77%

India on Sunday reported 28,326 new Covid cases and 260 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the Union Health Ministry.
 

India logged 28,326 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, taking the country's case tally to 3,35,31,498. The death toll climbed to 443,928 with 431 daily fatalities, according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare data on Sunday.

The active cases stand at 3,03,476, with a rise of 2,034 cases in the last 24 hours. According to Union Health Ministry, active cases constitute less than 1% of the total cases.

A total of 26,032 people recuperated from Covid-19, taking the recoveries tally to 3,29,02,351. The recovery rate improved to 97.77%.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) data, a total of 56.32 crore samples have been tested for Covid-19 in the country so far.

A total of 68,42,786 doses have been administered in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said. India has vaccinated 85.60 crore doses so far under its national vaccination drive.
