Coronavirus: India clocks 30,549 new COVID-19 cases; recovery rate stands at 97.38%

India on Tuesday reported 30,549 fresh Covid-19 cases and 422 deaths over the past 24 hours.

In the past 24 hours, India recorded 30,549 cases and 422 deaths as per the Health Ministry. The country has 317,265,07 cases overall and total fatalities stand at 425,195. Kerala remains the top contributor, recording 13,984 cases.

The top five states which have registered the maximum Covid-19 cases are Kerala with 13,984 cases, followed by Maharashtra with 4,869 cases, Tamil Nadu with 1,957 cases, Andhra Pradesh with 1,546 cases and Karnataka with 1,285 cases.

The number of active cases has gone up to 4,04,958, accounting for 1.28% of the total caseload, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate was recorded at 97.38%, the data showed.

In the last 24 hours, 38,887 patients recovered from the virus, taking the total number of recoveries to 3,08,96,354.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a total of 471,294,789 samples have been tested for Covid-19 till now of which 1,649,295 were tested in the last 24 hours.
 

India has administered a total of 61,09,587 doses in the last 24 hours, which brings the total tally of doses administered to 47,85,44,114.
