Coronavirus: India’s daily infection tally rises marginally with 41,831 new cases; recovery rate at 97.37%

India reported 41,831 new cases, 541 deaths in the last 24 hours. The government has stressed on the need of strict restrictions in districts witnessing a positivity rate of more than 10%.

India has recorded 41,831 lakh fresh cases - marginally higher than yesterday - and 541 deaths in the last 24 hours. The total death toll in the country is now at 4,24,351, while the total caseload stands at 3.16 crore.

The number of active cases has gone up to 41,0952 on Sunday, accounting for 1.30% of the total number of cases.
 

According to the data shared by the Union Health Ministry on Sunday, the country saw a total of 39,258 discharges in the last 24 hours, taking the total recovery to 3,08,20,521.

The daily positivity rate was recorded at 2.34%. The weekly positivity rate was recorded at 2.42%, according to the ministry. The fatality rate now stands at 1.34% and the recovery rate at 97.37%, the health bulletin further said.
 

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said with 17,89,472 samples tested during the day for the virus, the total number of such tests conducted so far stands at 46,82,16,510.

The cumulative number of Covid vaccine doses administered in the country so far has reached 47.02 crore.
