The festival of lights Diwali is just around the corner. This year Diwali will begin on November 4, but the festival is just not for a day. It begins way in advance with Dhanteras on November 2. It is believed that Dhanteras marks the beginning of Diwali festivity. The festival is celebrated across the country. On this day, Kuber and Dhanwantari, along with Goddess Lakshmi are worshipped. However, there are some things you need to take care of in Dhanteras. 1) Do not keep garbage in the house

People on Diwali clean their house as it is believed that goddess Lakshmi comes to your house. Cleanliness is next to godliness. If garbage is in your house, it will expand negative energy in your home.

2) Worship the deities
It is believed that on Dhanteras, Lord Kuber, who is the God of wealth, is worshipped. One should not forget to worship Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Dhanvantari as well. It is also believed that Goddess Lakshmi visits the home of her worshippers on this day. Lord Dhanvantari is considered the God of Ayurveda and is prayed on Dhanteras. It is also believed that God Dhanvantari had worked for the societies betterment and had helped in removing suffering.

3) Don't sleep in the afternoon

It is believed that if one sleeps during the day on this auspicious day, it leads to poverty in the house. If possible, it is important to even stay awake at night.

4) Avoid giving money

On this day, it is said to avoid lending money to anyone. One should not even borrow money or do the same only after Diwali.

5) Avoid fights

Avoid quarrelling with your spouse, family members, relatives or loved one's because it leads to negativity. Maintain peace in the house.
