There's no harm in going the extra mile for your spouse while you're in a relationship. On the other hand, one-sided relationships can be difficult to detect since it is easy to be blinded by your love for your spouse and convince yourself that everything is OK. Here are few signs to look out for.

Only you are doing the conversation
Communication is the most effective approach to maintain a connection. You send text messages, make phone calls, and make an effort to see your spouse during the week - if it's just you, chances are you're in a one-sided relationship. If you have to be the first to initiate contact, your spouse may not prioritise your relationship in their life.

Justifying them always
Defence is sometimes warranted, but not always. However, if you're always explaining your partner's behaviour to your network of friends, family, and coworkers, they may be seeing something you're not. You must accept full responsibility for protecting your partner's reputation while also keeping your loved ones pleased. It is not only stressful, but it may also be tiring.

You are always the one who is checking on them
If you're in a one-sided relationship, your spouse will be unconcerned with your well-being and will never take the time to ask you the same question. They will never exhibit care about your problems or ask if you have any. You have the sense that your partner is uninterested in you, which is a horrible weight to carry.

You always say sorry
Are you the one that always apologises, even when you're not at fault? That is the most telling indication of a one-sided relationship. When you're in a one-sided relationship, your spouse will make you feel awful for every tiny thing you fret over, whether it's your emotional self or the anxious thoughts you can't stop. Your partner will advise you to toughen up and brush the problem under the rug instead of making you feel better about yourself.

The relationship begins to be stressful
Relationships are never flawless. Every day, hundreds of issues occur, and it takes a great deal of work to solve them. They will show little desire in resolving these interpersonal issues and will instead distance themselves from them. You are always concerned that the relationship is on the verge of failing and that it is entirely your responsibility.
