The southwest monsoon has already hit Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, bringing heavy showers. The weather department is warning of more heavy rain today (June 9, Tuesday) in both states. High alert for these Andhra Pradesh districts
The monsoon arrived in Andhra Pradesh four to five days ahead of schedule, and the rains have picked up pace. The state's Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) is warning of widespread rain today. They expect moderate to heavy showers in Palnadu, Prakasam, Kurnool, Nandyal, Anantapur, Sri Sathya Sai, and YSR Kadapa districts, and have asked people to be careful. Moderate rains are also predicted for Alluri Sitarama Raju and Markapuram districts. APSDMA added that thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds could make the situation dangerous. They are advising everyone to avoid taking shelter under trees or in temporary structures and to stay in safe buildings. Light showers are also possible in other parts of the state.

Heavy rains in Telangana today...
The Hyderabad Meteorological Centre has also predicted heavy rains for Telangana today (Tuesday). They are forecasting heavy to very heavy showers in Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubnagar, Warangal, Hanamkonda, and Nagarkurnool districts. The department also warned of strong winds blowing at speeds of 40-50 kmph. These rains are expected to continue for the next two to three days, bringing temperatures down to a pleasant 30-35 degrees Celsius.

These are the areas with the highest rainfall in Telangana..
Telangana saw heavy rainfall yesterday (June 8, Monday). Mattapalle in Suryapet district recorded the highest rainfall at 88.5 mm. According to the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS), other areas also received significant rain: Kandukur (Rangareddy) got 78 mm, Kadtal 45.3 mm, and Maheshwaram 38.8 mm. Damaracharla in Nalgonda district saw 67 mm, while in Khammam district, Wyra received 63.4 mm, Raghunathapalem 46.9 mm, and Madhira 37.5 mm. Sirikonda in Nizamabad district recorded 41.1 mm and Mallampally in Mulugu district got 39.3 mm.
