India and UK train for military operations in Uttarakhand

The company-level exercise which will culminate on October 20, would familiarise both sides with each other's weapons, equipment, tactics and procedures for carrying out joint military operations.

Armies of India and the United Kingdom commenced the sixth edition of joint exercise Ajeya Warrior at Chaubatia in Uttarakhand to hone their skills from each other's expertise. 

The company-level exercise which will culminate on October 20, would familiarise both sides with each other's weapons, equipment, tactics and procedures for carrying out joint military operations.

The exercise aims to develop interoperability and share expertise with friendly foreign nations.

The troops of the two countries will also share the experiences that they have learnt during the conduct of several military operations in their respective countries and overseas engagements. 

The exercise will conclude with a gruelling 48 hours exercise to validate the performance of both armies in conducting joint military operations in a semi-urban environment.

This joint training is expected to improve bilateral ties and further boost the friendship between the two nations.

Its last edition was held at Salisbury Plains in the United Kingdom in 2020.

In July this year, the Indian Navy and Royal Navy Carrier Strike Group (CSG-21) led by HMS Queen Elizabeth also participated in a 2-day joint Passage Exercise in the Bay of Bengal.
