Soumitra Chatterjee’s daughter opens up about her father death rumours and hospital leaked pictures

Soumitra Chatterjee’s daughter got upset after a photograph of the veteran actor lying in his hospital bed in Kolkata went viral on social media. The photo resulted in rumours about the actor's death. Soumitra’s daughter urged people not to share and spread such rumours and provide privacy to the veteran actor who is fighting for his life.  

Kolkata: Soumitra Chatterjee’s daughter, Poulami Bose got distressed after rumours of her father’s death and his detailed medical bulletin went viral. 

On Tuesday (October 13), a photograph of veteran actor Soumitra Chatterjee lying in his hospital bed in Kolkata went viral on social media. The photo resulted in rumours about the actor's death, which prompted a pained appeal from his daughter on social media.

The veteran actor’s daughter posted on social media, “Amidst this time of huge anxiety over the health of my COVID-afflicted father, Soumitra Chatterjee, we are extremely upset, sad and heartbroken to find unauthorised pictures of him from the ICU and his medical bulletin being shared widely on social media. Please give him the privacy and respect that he so richly deserves. Kindly do not share such images/information and do not heed or indulge in rumour mongering. This is the urgent appeal of my family. Your prayers and good wishes are always very welcome. Thank you.”

Poulami has expressed her anger over the rumors about her father on social media and urged people not to share and spread such rumours and provide privacy to the veteran actor who is fighting for his life.

A medical bulletin from Belle Vue Clinic on Tuesday (October 13) said that there was some "improvement" in Soumitra Chatterjee's neurological condition, prompting doctors to put on hold a plan to place him on a ventilator. On Monday (October 12), he had been given respiratory assistance with a non-rebreather mask.
