Rajinikanth moves Madras HC after Rs 6.5 crore property bill

Actor Rajinikanth has moved the Madras High Court against property tax demand to the tune of Rs 6.5 lakh for his Raghavendra Kalyana Mandapam by Greater Chennai Corporation.
In his petition, the actor claimed he had not let out the marriage hall since the lockdown came into force on March 24, and that due to this he is entitled to vacancy remission.

In his petition, Rajinikanth contended that he has been regularly paying taxes and has complied with government's order to refund the advance amount to the people who had booked the hall before the lockdown was imposed to contain the COVID-19 outbreak.
