Synopsis

Yuzvendra Chahal is not playing for Team India in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. While he is on a much-needed break, his wife Dhanashree Verma celebrated the 'Karwa Chauth' festival.

Indian leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has not made it to the Team India squad for the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). He did come up with a splendid performance in the 2021 Indian Premier League (IPL), playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), claiming 18 wickets from 15 matches at an economy of 7.05 and was the side's second-highest wicket-taker after pacer Harshal Patel.

As he is on a much-needed break, he is rejuvenating himself at his home in Gurgaon, keeping himself fit ahead of his possible home outing against New Zealand next month. Meanwhile, he was busy with personal commitments on Sunday, as along with his dancer wife Dhanashree Verma, he celebrated the 'Karwa Chauth' festival.

It is a Hindu festival where the wife prays for her husband's long life and performs rituals throughout the day, notably by fasting. It happened to be the couple's first 'Karwa Chauth', as they had gotten hitched in November last year. On the same note, Chahal shared some of their pictures from the occasion.

In the first two pictures, Chahasree poses in traditional Indian attires. While Chahal dons a blue Punjabi outfit, Dhanasree wears an off-white lehenga, as they both look adorable. In the other photo, they are also seen with his mother, as Chahal captioned it, "Happy Karwa Chauth ❤️💕🧿".

Dhanashree also shared a couple of pics of the same, besides a video, where she is seen performing the traditional ritual of pouring the holy water. She captioned it, "Happy karwa chauth ♾ My favourite cricketer @yuzi_chahal23". She also shared a dance video on the occasion, captioned, "Karwa Chauth special🌙🌷 To all the beautiful ladies out there… this ones for you 🌹".
