Coronavirus: Shahid Afridi tests positive for COVID-19; here’s what he said

Shahid Afridi has tested positive for the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19). He announced this on his Twitter account

Bengaluru: Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi announced on Saturday (June 13) that he has tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19).

Afridi took to his Twitter account to say that he had tested positive for the virus. He asked his fans to pray for his speedy recovery.

“I’ve been feeling unwell since Thursday; my body had been aching badly. I’ve been tested and unfortunately I’m covid positive. Need prayers for a speedy recovery, InshaAllah #COVID19 #pandemic #hopenotout #staysafe #stayhome (sic),” Afridi wrote.

The 40-year-old played 27 Tests, 398 ODIs and 99 T20Is for Pakistan between 1998 and 2018. He has been doing charity work during the coronavirus crisis in Pakistan.

He had got support from Indian stars Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh. However, they slammed him for his comments against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
