The second all-electric vehicle from MG Motor India will soon be available in the Indian market. With Comet, the business will enter a new compact electric car sector after launching the MG ZS EV in January 2020. On April 19, 2023, the brand-new MG Comet EV will make its formal premiere in India.
A three-door electric hatchback with a distinctive look, the MG Comet will be unlike any other EVs now offered in India. It will feature a 2,010 mm wheelbase, 2,974 mm length, 1,631 mm height, and 1,505 mm width. Despite being an entry-level EV, the new Comet will be loaded with features up to the brim. Dual 10.25-inch displays, a two-spoke steering wheel, two airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, and other features will be included.
A 20 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which might provide a driving range of about 250 km on a single charge, is anticipated to be included in the next MG Comet EV. It will be propelled by a single, 45 horsepower electric motor positioned on the back axle. It won't support DC charging, and using a standard AC charger will take about 8.5 hours to charge it from zero to 100 percent.
In the Indian market, the new MG Comet will be a unique electric car. Its manufacturing has already started, and shortly the pricing should be revealed. The Comet from MG is anticipated to cost less than Rs 10 lakh, ex-showroom. It will immediately compete with vehicles like the Citroen eC3, Tata Tiago EV, and others.
