Skoda, a Czech carmaker, recently teased automobile enthusiasts by introducing its new model Slavia. The mid-size car was supposed to be presented towards the end of this year, but it has now been claimed that the debut might take place next month. Skoda plans to launch Slavia in the third week of November, according to Carwale. Like its previous offering Kushaq, Skoda Slavia will be built on the localised MQB A0 IN platform.
On the other hand, the Slavia's footprint will be larger than that of Skoda's current sedan, the Rapid. Carwale obtained testing images that hint at the reintroduction of Skoda's iconic butterfly grille and projector headlights for the Slavia. Other potential characteristics of the yet-to-be-launched Slavia include turn indicators on electric-powered side mirrors, split tail lights, and a shark fin antenna. Furthermore, the mid-size car will be equipped with 16-inch alloy wheels.

The Slavia will not be available in diesel form, as per Skoda's stance. With manual and automatic transmission choices, the Slavia will be powered by 1.0 TSI and 1.5 TSI petrol engines. Kushaq, which was released in June of this year, also has these engines. Skoda has yet to disclose Slavia's pricing, but it is likely in the Rs 9 lakh to 12 lakh range (ex-showroom price). The Czech manufacturer recently introduced the matte edition of the Rapid, which starts at Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom price).
Skoda has released a limited edition Rapid in two variants. While the manual model is the least expensive, the special edition with an automatic transmission costs Rs 13.49 lakh. Notably, the ex-showroom pricing of the original Skoda Rapid TSI is Rs 7.80 lakh. The carbon steel matte exterior colour gives the limited edition Rapid a sleek look, with ORVMs, front lip spoiler, front grille, side body moulding, and rear diffuser.
