Sadavarti Satram land dispute: TDP delaying land handover to file SC review petition?

Synopsis

Government is preparing to file a Review Petition against MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy Alla has secured the lands according to court order He paid Rs 27 crores for 84 acres in two instalments But the government is tarrying in registering the land in Alla’s name

The Sadavarti Satram land dispute between Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government and Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy is turning into a major political issue.

Even after High Court intervention, the TDP doesn’t seem to be in a mood to back off.  The controversy began after 84 acres of Sadavarti Satram lands in Tamil Nadu worth hundreds of crores were sold to a supporter of Chandrababu for mere Rs 22 crores.

When YCP MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy filed a petition in High Court against the deal, the court gave a judgment that Alla can buy the land for Rs 27 crores.

According to court orders, Alla paid Rs 27 crores in two instalments but the government is tarrying over registering the lands to Alla.

The Kapu Corporation Chairman Ramanujaiah, who initially bought the land for Rs 22 crores filed a petition against Alla objecting to sale of property. But the court cancelled the petition without any consideration.

But now after everything has been finalised and even after taking the money from Alla, the government seems to be in no mood to handover the land.

In probability, the government is now preparing to file a review petition with the Supreme Court.
