Everyone knows about the grip of Chandrababu Naidu on various systems. Especially about his hold in the judicial system. But even then Naidu faced a big blow. For the very first time Chandrababu faced defeat in the matter of Sadavarti Satram lands and that too at the hands of YCP MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy.
It is common knowledge that many cases on Chandrababu are pending both in High Court and Supreme Court. No one knows what would have happened if the cases against Naidu were investigated. Many cases were filed against him when he became the chief minister for the first time. But none have seen any investigation.
After 10 years, in his third time as CM ‘Note-for-vote’ case was filed against him. But no investigation took place. TDP say that he was given a clean chit in all the cases but that’s a matter of dispute. Opposition say that in none of the cases he was given a clean chit.
If we come to the present scenario, Chandrababu planned to personally own the lands of Sadavarti. But YCP MLA became a hindrance. Alla went to court saying that hundreds of crores of land cannot be given to his supporter Ramanujayya alone. When the court looked into the matter everything came to the fore. They recognised the intentions of the government by allotting 82 acres of land for a measly Rs 22 crore to Ramanujayya.
After listening to all the arguments in court, the court decided to allot the lands to anyone paying Rs 5 crore more on the Rs 22 crore. Alla decided to pay Rs 27 crore as the court asked.
Lokesh vented his anger on losing the lands, but since this is a court’s order Chandrababu cannot do anything but to give up the 82 acres. Till now the Supreme Court gave some favourable judgement to the farmers regarding the lands for the capital. But the judgement of Sadavarti lands is a big blow to Chandrababu.
