- The counsel for Namma Bengaluru Foundation argued that based on Dr Ramachandra’s report the investigation was conducted
The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has rejected the application by Mantri Tech Zone to drop Dr TV Ramachandra from the Investigation Committee, reports Kannada Prabha.
The preliminary report in this case was prepared by Dr TV Ramachandra in 2013 and in his report he had blamed the Mantri builders for the Bellandur lake disaster. Opposing this, the Mantri Tech Zone had appealed to the NGT to keep him out of the investigating committee. However, the counsel for the Namma Bengaluru Foundation argued that based on Dr Ramachandra’s report, the investigation was conducted. The expert’s note and the tribunal’s verdict of May 4, 2016 both mention Ramachandra’s report and confirm the points mentioned by the investigation committee.
After hearing the argument, the NGT turned down the Mantri Tech Zone appeal and posted the next hearing for Nov 8.
