In a bizarre incident, a farmer couple has deployed six dogs and four guards exclusively to guard their only two mango trees. The mango tree named Japanese Miyazaki is very special and per kilogram of fruit costs Rs 2.70 lakh in the international market as per reports.

The incident happened in Madhya Pradesh where a farmer couple, Rani and Sankalp Parihar planted two tree saplings a few years back. The saplings were given by an old man on the train to Chennai and asked the couple to take care of these saplings as their own children.

A few years later, when the tree species bore fruits with the ruby color which was rare, the couple then researched and found about this rare mango species also called as egg of the Sun. As the information was leaked, the couple was reportedly approached to sell the fruit and a Mumbai man also offered Rs 21,000 per fruit.

The couple have decided not to sell and instead grow more such trees from the seeds, a report stated.

Why is this Japanese Miyazaki special?

The species is widely grown in a place called Miyazaki city in Japan. Each mango weighs about 300 to 350 grams, looks like dinosaur eggs and has about 15% high natural sugar levels. As per reports, rich antioxidants and beta-carotene, folic acid are found which helps sick patients recover fast and is grown during peak harvest between April and August.
