  • Bread slices – 4
  • Ghee – 4 tablespoons
  • Full cream milk – 1.5 cups

  • Condensed milk – 1/2 cup
  • Sugar – 3 tablespoons
  • Cardamom powder – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Saffron – a few strands 
  • Chopped dry fruits – almonds, cashews, pistachios

Fry the bread slices

  • Cut the bread slices into triangular or square shapes.
  • Heat ghee in a pan and deep fry the bread until golden brown.
  • Remove them on a tissue paper to absorb excess oil.

Prepare the royal rabri

  • Boil milk in a pan, then add condensed milk, sugar and cardamom powder to it.
  • Boil it for 5-7 minutes, until the milk thickens slightly.
  • Now add the soaked saffron strands to it.

Prepare the sugar syrup

  • In a separate pan, boil 1/2 cup of water and 3 tablespoons of sugar.
  • Keep stirring it until a light syrup is ready.

Dip the bread in sugar syrup

  • Dip the fried bread slices in warm sugar syrup for 30 seconds.
  • Remove immediately and place on a serving plate

Add rabri and garnish

  • Pour hot rabri over the bread soaked in sugar syrup.
  • Sprinkle chopped almonds, cashews and pistachios

Serve chilled

  • Let the Shahi Tukda cool for 10-15 minutes so that the flavors blend well.
  • It can be served both hot or chilled
