Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon fennel seeds (coarsely ground)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder

Ingredients:

1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Ghee (for frying)
1/4 cup water (if needed)

Prepare the batter:

  • Heat the ghee in a pan 
    In a bowl, mix all-purpose flour, sugar, fennel seeds, cardamom powder, and baking powder.
  • Add milk and whisk well to make a smooth batter.

Fry the malpua:

  • Pour the batter with a spoon into the hot ghee and give it a slightly round shape.
  • Fry the malpua on low heat until golden brown.

Add honey or syrup:

  • If desired, dip in light syrup or drizzle with honey.

Serve and enjoy:

  • Serve the malpua hot with dry fruits or rabri.
