Tech giants including Google, Facebook to allow vaccinated employees into offices
The search engine company is also planning to expand its vaccination drive to other regions in the coming months.
As the highly infectious Delta variant has increased the number of cases across regions, big tech companies are making it mandatory for the employees in the United States to get COVID-19 vaccinations before entering the campuses.
According to media reports, Alphabet Inc's Google and Facebook on Wednesday said that all US employees must get vaccinated to step into the office. The search engine company is also planning to expand its vaccination drive to other regions in the coming months.
Similarly, the streaming giant Netflix has also implemented a policy mandating vaccinations for the cast and crew on all its US productions. Apple has also planned to restore its masks requirement policy at most of its US retail stores, both for customers and staff, even after vaccination.
Meanwhile, other tech companies including Microsoft Corp and Uber said they expect employees to return to the office. On Wednesday, Google has said that it would extend its work-from-home policy through October 18 due to a recent rise in cases caused by the Delta variant.
