- Sherin, was the Mathewes adopted daughter
- Sini, Sherin’s mother has opted for a separate lawyer
The Richardson Police department who is on the lookout for the three-year-old Sherin Mathews has given a new update.
As part of the investigation the police have noticed that the Mathews' 2013 maroon Acura MDX SUV was absent from their residence on Sunningdale, between the hours of 4am to 5am on Saturday October 7th. The morning when Sherin went missing after her father Wesley Mathews, a Keralite, asked her to stand in the backyard at 3 am for not drinking milk. Wesley reported her disappearance only 5 hours later claiming that he thought she’d be back and it would be better to search for her in the daylight.
The police are now asking for residents and business owners within an area where this vehicle could have travelled within that hour to review and preserve any video possibly containing this vehicle.
The FBI had previously finished a thorough search of the apartment in Springdale.
Sherin had been adopted by the Mathewses from India last year. A report in the Deccan Chronicle cites how there have been articles linking the Wesley and Sini Mathews connection to Kochi, Ernakulam. But there has been no promising proof of the same.
An attorney, who identified himself as Gregg Gibbs, also visited the couple's home ahead of the search, according to reports, but he refused to comment on whom he was representing. It is understood that Wesley and his wife will have separate lawyers.
Attorney Kent Starr met with Sini Mathews at her residence in Richardson for about two hours on Wednesday and her will now be representing her in the case.
