In a tragic incident in London, fire broke out in one of the largest buildings in the city's popular hangout area-the Camden Lock Market. It initially required eight fire brigades, an aerial ladder and about 60 firefighters to douse the fire. However, the numbers were increased later to 10 fire engines and 70 firefighters. The flames went so high that the fire department appealed to the people to avoid the area on its Twitter account. In its statement on Facebook, it said, "A building within the market is alight and part of its first, second and third floors are affected by the fire, as well as part of its roof."
According to a report by the Independent, the post further added, "Crews from Kentish Town, Euston, Soho, Paddington and Holloway fire stations are at the scene. The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage."
As an update, a representative of the fire department is said to have posted at 3 am that the brigade was trying to damp down the hot spots, but the fire could not be brought under control. No casualties have been reported till now.
In the month of July, a similar fire broke out at the Grenfell Tower, which is a 24-storey residential building in north Kensington. Close to 80 people were declared dead.
