Punjab Government in Pakistan has banned dancing to Indian Bollywood songs in colleges and other  educational institutions.

The Punjab Government in Pakistan has prohibited students from dancing to Indian Bollywood songs in all colleges and educational institutions across the province. A circular has been issued, warning of strict disciplinary action for non-compliance.

This decision may come as a surprise, given that Pakistani youth often enjoy dancing to popular Hindi songs. 


"Most urgent" circular

A circular, marked as "MOST URGENT AND IMPORTANT", has been issued to all institutions. The government has expressed concern over funfair, sports gala, and other activities where students and teachers have been observed dancing to Indian songs on stage or in classes.

Meanwhile, the subject of the circular is "BAN ON UNETHICAL AND VULGAR ACTITIES IN THE PUBLIC AND PRIVATE COLLEGES".

"The Educational Institutes are sacred places to impart quality education to the aspirant students. Such activities in the Educational Institutes must not take place," the circular reads.

The government emphasizes that educational institutions are sacred places for imparting quality education, and such activities must not take place. Principals, Deputy Directors, and Directors of Education will be held responsible for negligence and face strict disciplinary action.
