Kiev (Ukraine): A mother in Ukraine dug almost 35-foot tunnel into a jail to free her convicted son who has been serving a life sentence for murder. The mother is now facing jail after getting caught in the act by authorities.
According to reports, the 51-year-old mother started a plan to rescue her son by renting a house near the jail in Zaporizhia, where the son is serving life sentence. Then acquired some shovels and pickaxes and began digging the tunnel.
The 51-year-old woman worked only at night to attract less attention. Within days, she carved out a 10-foot tunnel, which started in a field near her son's prison. Soon she completed 35-foot which is just under the prison wall.
However, police searched her rented home, they found hand tools for digging.
The woman now faces a jail term.
