Make Bihar's Chandrakala Sweet for Holi 2025

  • All-purpose flour – 2 cups
  • Desi Ghee – 4 tablespoons
  • Water – as needed

Ingredients:

 

  • Khoya – 1 cup 
  • Sugar – 1 cup
  • Cashews, almonds, pistachios – 2 tablespoons
  • Cardamom powder – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Ghee – for frying
  • Water – 1/2 cup

Knead the dough:

  • In a bowl, mix all-purpose flour and ghee well.
  • Add water little by little and knead into a stiff dough and cover it for 15-20 minutes.

Prepare the stuffing:

  • Roast the khoya lightly on low heat.
  • Add chopped dry fruits, cardamom powder and a little sugar to it and let it cool.

Make the shape of Chandrakala:

  • Make small balls from the dough and roll them like puris.
  • Place the stuffing on one puri and cover it with another puri and seal the edges by folding them.

Deep fry:

  • Heat ghee and fry Chandrakala on low heat until golden brown.
  • Immediately put it in the sugar syrup and soak it for 5-7 minutes.

Serve and enjoy:

  • Take out Chandrakala from the sugar syrup and garnish with chopped pistachios and almonds.
  • Serve it on festivals or special occasions.
