Bengaluru: The water table in and around Cubbon Park, one of the city's major lung spaces is expected to increase in coming days and water will fill its three mini ponds to the brim as work on 65 recharge wells has begun.

The project is supported by India Cares foundation and First America under, and is being executed Biome Environmental Trust and Friends of Lakes.

Deputy director of Cubbon Park Mahantesh Murgod says, earlier seven wells at the depth of 15 feet were revived. As the city has been facing water shortage, we decided to make efforts to increase the levels in our water table so that the places like Kumara Krupa Guest House, Vidhana Soudha, General Post Office and Raj Bhavan can get uninterrupted water supply from Cubbon Park once the project is complete.
